Amigo Ducharme Janurary 1995-September 2008

Sad News , This afternoon Amigo passed away .As you you all know ,he lived a full life and will be missed . Bruce .
He will be buried out in the back woods where he often ran .

That is too bad....I actually feel sad seeing his picture....-Colleen

Okay, time to weigh in.... Have to admit I too was a little sad when I saw the photo-brent

O.K., if I may eulogize...this dog had a hard life. Obedient and intelligent, he was never well liked by human beings. His owners were far from dog lovers, and his early days involved following strict sets of behaviour guidelines. Knowing his role, the lack of appreciation shown him by family and friends alike never held him back. Forced to sleep outside all year round, he moved from home to home seeing more places than the average Tibiscibian. Whether rolling in racoon poop in Coquitlam or wrestling skunks in Summerland, discovering adulthood in Kelowna or growing old Mission, or even on one of Ted's hunting journey's, Amigo always knew when not to cross the line, and he rarely did. Battling broken bones, blindness, and strange bug bites, Amigo was a trooper. A small animal with a big heart, amigo will surely be missed.-Pierre

Pierre...that was very well said...if we are going to reminice...our fondest memory was when dad chased him into the lake wailing a hockey stick at him...and threating him within an inch of his precious life.....colleen & rod

I'd have to say he was probably the most indepenant dog I ever knew. He marched to the beat of his own drum.-brent

very well said Pierre. That pretty well summed up his life. It brought tears to my eyes( tears of laughter) but I will say we did try to give him a better life but the skunk wrestling was the final straw for me. I will miss the little gapher and the pictures of him in the snow ( the only time I've seen a cute side of him) touched the heart strings and made me sad. I am happy that he has now finally found true peace and happiness and is in a better place. -michelle

see reaction to Amigos death is starting to come in from far and wide.
he truly was a special dog he gave so much to so many, especially his slober.
always the affectionate one.He was allways the first to greet us whenever we went
to Mom and Dads or Bruce and Margs or Michelle and Teds or well who ever. We will miss you Amigo heres to you cheers old buddy thanks for the moments. -bryan and joanne

curious, still no word on the cause of death? Something smells, andthis time it's not amigo...-janine

Looks like his heart finally gave out. The poor old guy rarely left his kennel in the last few days. We thought that perhaps he wouldn't make it to Christmas but we were optimistic as he still could surprise us with his feistiness. He is very sadly missed by this family and especially Paula. The other 2 dogs kept watch over his body for hours and would not leave his side. HE picked a beautiful day to take Amigo home. Thank you to everyone who thought so well of him. Following is the prayer we said by his graveside... "This we know: every living thing is yours and returns to you. As we ponder this mystery, we give you thanks for the life of Amigo and now we commit him into your loving hands. Gentle God: fragile is your world, delicate are your creatures and costly is your love which bears and redeems us all.Holy creator, give us eyes to see and ears to hear how every living thing speaks to us of your love.Let us be awestruck at your creation and daily sing your praises.Especially, create within us a spirit of gratitude for the life of this beloved pet who has lived among us and given us freely of his love. Even in our sorrow, we have cause for joy for we know that all creatures who died on earth shall live again in your new creation. Amen." -marg
